Professional career

After completing a banking traineeship (1977) and studying business administration at university (1984) in Germany he started his career as a management trainee at the FLACHGLAS Group‘s head office in Gelsen- kirchen, Germany.

1984 He embarked on a traineeship and then worked as a branch manager at a wholesaler in Bavaria (1987).

From 1990 onwards he was managing director of several affiliated companies of PILKINGTON PLC in eastern Germany, which included setting up a Dresden-based company‘s production and wholesale operations in 1990.

1997 He assumed overall regional management responsibility for all affiliated companies in eastern Germany.

2007 He became managing director of an alliance of 24 companies in the glass-processing sector.

2010 He became a partner in MSP, specialising in restructuring.
