He gained a degree in business administration from Nuremberg University, specialising in logistics and business informatics, followed by a doctorate from Munich Technical University which he completed in 1996.
Since 1996 self-employed consultant and project manager with focus logistics/supply chain management.
Until 1998 he managed a project for setting up and commissioning a new FMCG distribution centre, including the introduction of a new warehouse management system.
He commissioned a new mail-order centre for stationery products in 2001/2002.
Until 2004, he ran a distribution centre for dairy products until it went live in 2003, after which he managed the outsourcing of logistics services to a contract service provider.
Until 2004 he planned, set up and commissioned a highly automated FMCG distribution centre.
Since then he has managed and worked on projects involving invitations to tender, outsourcing contract logistics services, IT logistics projects, logistics systems design, supply chain management and optimising distribution networks.
