From 1980 to 1990, he held various positions at Duewag AG, Krefeld (rail vehicles), ultimately as overall project manager for creating an integrated IT system based largely on SAP software. From 1990 to 1996, he performed various roles in the Transport Systems division at Siemens AG, finishing as data protection officer and company representative in Groupwide IT projects. From 1996 to 2005, he was head of information processing at KHS AG, Dortmund (bottling plants for the beverage industry) and then at Windmöller & Hölscher, Lengerich (manufacturer of packaging machines). His tasks were integrating, harmonising and standardising the entire IT landscape. He focussed on both CAD and SAP environments.

His core topics are strategic reorientation of IT, optimisation of business processes using modern IT systems, project management for SAP implementations, quality management and internal auditing on SAP projects and management of IT departments/ CIO.
